Japan Powder Culture Tours is a New Zealand based ski and snowboard tour business that runs tours in the Nagano area of Japan.  Based in Yudanaka, our all inclusive tours include: Guiding and Instruction, lift passes, equipment rental, mountain transportation, accommodation, meals and cultural activities.  Pre packaged tours start at 4 day up to 14 day tours and we also tailor make packages to suit.  Our guests visit from all parts of the globe and we cater for people from age 3 to 70+ years, and ability levels from beginner to expert.

Beginner

Let’s face it, learning a new sport can sometimes be a daunting process without the right knowledge and experienced people to assist.  One option is to go to a totally Westernised resort in Japan which will generally work on the numbers game with large size beginner’s classes with many people on the slopes which increase the chances of injury.  Another option is to come with us and experience resorts where westerners are almost non-existent, with small intimate beginner classes, and English speaking instructors that turn your learning into a lifetime passion.  The link is https://www.japanpowderculturetours.com/beginner/

Intermediate

Learning to ski and board in powder can sometimes be a daunting process, however with the right direction and encouragement it can become a lifetime addiction. The Nagano area with its abundant annual snowfall is the perfect location to teach powder technique alongside improving general ski confidence.  Our guide/instructors methods of assisting you ski the powder are a gradual process over the days you are with them using techniques of riding that will increase your confidence levels at a pace that suits you.  The link is https://www.japanpowderculturetours.com/intermediate/

Advanced

Japan is all about the powder, and in Japan “Knowledge is Powder”.  When coming to a new resort for the first time, a lot of time and energy can be spent trying to find where the real skiing and riding can be found.  Not having an intimate knowledge of the area and the experience that comes from spending multiple seasons in an area can open up many dangers when trying out new off piste or slack country parts of the ski resorts.  Japan Powder Culture Tours have this covered with our experienced guides who have spent a lot of time finding and experiencing where the best runs are away from the general public.  Safety is a priority with compulsory use of helmets and avalanche equipment and the necessary training from our guides on how to use it.  The link is https://www.japanpowderculturetours.com/advanced/
